Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Two (2) years of laboratory animal care experience.
• Ability to keep basic records.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and wear respiratory protection as necessary.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine tasks related to general laboratory animal care in biomedical research.
• Operate automatic washing/cleaning equipment and autoclaves.
• Receive and disinfect supplies/equipment entering the facility.
• Keep simple records and maintain housing for laboratory animals.
• Feed and house laboratory animals; perform general animal housekeeping.
• Collect hair, fecal and blood samples for diagnostic testing.
• Order and stock supplies; use computer for email, training, and data entry.
• Work schedule includes weekends and holidays.
