Job summary

Tuff Memorial Home is seeking a Kitchen Staff member to assist with the preparation, serving, and cleanup of meals for residents. You will ensure meals are safe, nutritious, appealing, and timely while maintaining a clean, sanitary kitchen and dining environment.

The role emphasizes friendly, respectful service to residents and collaboration with dietary staff and other team members. Weekend or varied shifts may be required and staff are expected to follow all facility policies.

Qualifications

• Kitchen, food service, dietary, or restaurant experience preferred but not required.
• Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Dependable, punctual, and able to work cooperatively with others.
• Good communication and customer-service skills.
• Must maintain confidentiality regarding residents and facility information.
• Willing to follow all policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparing meals, snacks, beverages, and other food items according to menus and recipes.
• Follow residents' diets, food preferences, allergies, and dietary needs.
• Assist with meal portioning, plating, serving, and delivery of meals to residents.
• Maintain proper food temperatures and follow safety and sanitation procedures.
• Perform routine kitchen cleanup and waste handling.
• Store food and supplies with proper labeling and dating.
• Receive and stock food and kitchen supplies as needed.
• Maintain clean, organized kitchen, dining areas, and storage.
• Set up and clean dining areas before and after meals.
• Report concerns to the Dietary Manager.
• Use kitchen equipment safely and appropriately.
• Follow safety procedures.
• Provide courteous and respectful service to residents, families, visitors, and coworkers.
• Protect resident privacy and confidentiality.
• Attend required meetings and training.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
