Job summary

Brown University Health seeks an Independent Living Donor Advocate (ILDA) to support living kidney donor candidates through referral, evaluation, surgery and follow-up, protecting donors' rights and ensuring decisions are fully informed and voluntary.

The ILDA will participate in informed consent, document interactions, assess donor understanding, and uphold CMS/UNOS standards and ethical practice throughout the donation process.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills; active listening
• Ability to advocate for the donor's best interests

Responsibilities

• Protect donor rights and promote donors' best interests
• Provide a safe space for donor questions and concerns
• Document notes in the transplant program record
• Participate in evaluation and informed consent with the team
• Discuss risks and donor motivation to ensure informed decision
