Job summary

Animal Hope in Fort Worth, TX is hiring two Kennel Technicians to provide daily care, enrichment, and monitoring for shelter animals. You will document behavioral observations, administer medications as directed, and collaborate with a fellow Kennel Technician to maintain a clean, safe, and enriching environment.

This active role is ideal for someone dependable, detail-oriented, and capable of lifting up to 50 lbs, working weekends, holidays, and varied shifts as needed to support our rescue

Qualifications

• Genuine passion for animal welfare and compassion for animals from diverse backgrounds.
• Ability to perform physically demanding work: lift up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods.
• Strong attention to detail, reliability, punctuality, and ability to follow protocols.
• Clear written and verbal communication for documentation and reporting concerns.
• Comfortable working independently and in a two-person kennel team.
• Flexible with scheduling, including weekends and holidays.
• Basic computer skills for record-keeping and data entry.
• Must pass a background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Feed, water, monitor intake for all animals per protocols.
• Provide safe, low-stress handling for dogs and cats of varying ages and temperaments.
• Assist with settling new transfer arrivals and intake processes as needed.
• Observe health/behavior and maintain daily notes and care records.
• Communicate concerns to management to support timely care decisions.
• Administer medications as directed and record administrations.
• Provide daily enrichment activities and maintain a low-stress environment.
• Thoroughly clean and sanitize kennels and related spaces; manage supplies.
