Job summary

Emporia Board of Education is seeking an Instructional Support - Paraeducator/Teacher Aide to assist in classrooms when school is in session, 6.5 hours per day. The base hourly rate is $16.22, with additional compensation for past work-related experience and education level.

You will provide instructional assistance under a certified teacher, help prepare and conduct activities, and work closely with staff and administration of USD 253.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent.
• Highly qualified paraeducators must have completed at least 48 college credit hours or have passed the ParaPro Assessment.
• Health and Immunization Certificate on file in the Central Office.

Responsibilities

• Assist in instructional activities under teacher supervision.
• Support individual students or small groups.
• Help prepare instructional materials and supplies for use.
• Monitor student progress and assist with testing.
• Maintain a safe, orderly classroom.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent
