Job summary

Golden Years Homemakers & Companions, Inc. in Bristol, CT, is seeking hourly caregivers to provide personal care and homemaker/companion services under the supervision of the Care Coordinator.

This is a full-time/part-time, on-site role requiring a reliable, bilingual caregiver with a valid driver’s license and auto insurance. Duties include meal preparation, light housekeeping, bathing, grooming, medication reminders, and compassionate companionship.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years old.
• Minimum of 6 months work experience in a supervised setting, preferably health care facility.
• Experience providing care to elderly or disabled persons at home.
• Able to read, write, and follow a written Plan of Care.
• Good verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
• Reliable transportation to/from assignments.
• Valid driver’s license, registration, and insurance.

Responsibilities

• Performs household services essential to health care at home: meal prep/feeding, laundry, light housekeeping, reminders to take medications as directed.
• Performs personal care tasks: bathing, grooming, skin/nail care, oral hygiene, shaving, dressing.
• Performs routine housekeeping: laundry, changing bed linens, vacuuming, errands, accompany to appointments.
• Reports observed changes in the client’s condition to the Care Coordinator and documents care.
• Maintains infection control practices and safety, and communicates with agency staff.
