Job summary

Seniors Helping Seniors Kansas City Metro South is seeking an In Home Caregiver who works under the Administrator to perform personal care services per the plan of care. The Caregiver observes clients, reports changes, and documents observations and care performed.

Essential duties include personal care tasks (bathing, grooming, dressing, mobility) and homemaker tasks (meals, dishes, laundry, shopping, companionship).

Qualifications

• Must consent to and pass a background screening process
• Have a baseline and annual TB test on record
• Self-directing with the ability to work with little direct supervision
• Demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills
• Ability to express spoken and/or written ideas in English
• Works as a team member

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care (bathing, grooming, dressing, transferring) per plan of care
• Perform homemaker tasks (meals, dishes, laundry, shopping, chores) and provide companionship
• Observe client health and report changes to supervisor
• Document observed changes and care performed
• Assist with self-administration of medication (reminder)
• Maintain safe environment and follow policies and procedures
• Maintain appropriate work records
