Job summary

Amada Senior Care North Shore in Evanston is seeking a compassionate Caregiver to assist individuals in daily living activities. Responsibilities include personal care, companionship, meal preparation, and monitoring health status. Candidates must have experience in senior care, knowledge of HIPAA regulations, and strong communication skills. This position offers part-time and full-time options, flexible scheduling, health benefits, and a pay rate of $16.50 to $18.00 per hour. Must be able to commute to various suburbs.

Qualifications

• Valid ID and Social Security Card required.
• Driver’s License preferred.
• Ability to commute to North/Western suburbs required.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, grooming, and dressing.
• Provide companionship and emotional support.
• Help with meal preparation and medication reminders.
• Perform light housekeeping tasks.
• Escort clients to appointments and run errands.
• Monitor and report changes in client’s health status.
• Implement behavior management techniques when necessary.

Skills

Experience in assisted living or senior care environments

Knowledge of HIPAA regulations

Proficiency in caregiving techniques

Ability to manage challenging behaviors effectively

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Competence in meal preparation for special dietary needs

Education

1 year of experience or equivalent
