Job summary

Deercreekseniorliving is seeking a Home Care Aide to support clients living at home, performing essential personal care and homemaking tasks. You will help clients maintain independence, observe health changes, and assist with meals, hygiene, and daily activities.

Responsibilities include safe home management, adherence to care plans, and accurate documentation. A minimum of one year in caregiving and a valid driver’s license are preferred to ensure reliable transportation to visits.

Qualifications

• At least eighteen years of age.
• Has at least one year of experience as a caregiver, homemaker or home care aide.
• Has had work or life experience as a caregiver, homemaker or home care aide.
• Successfully completes the home health aide competency evaluation.
• Must be able to read and follow written instructions and document services provided.
• Must have empathy for the needs of the ill, injured, frail and impaired.
• Must be a licensed driver with an automobile insured and in good working order or have reliable transportation to arrive at work on schedule.

Responsibilities

• Assists or performs personal care tasks including ADLs and IADLs to enable client to remain safe at home.
• Provides homemaking services for the ill, injured, impaired, disabled or aged.
• Observes the client for changes in general physical and mental conditions and reports changes to supervisor.
• Keeps the home clean and orderly.
• Plans meals and purchases food and household supplies as appropriate.
• Prepares and serves nutritious meals according to the client’s needs and services plan.
• Washes dishes and cleans the kitchen after meals.
• Assists the client and caregiver in safety, hygiene and good nutrition where possible.
• Does client’s laundry.
• Adheres to documentation and care procedures and standards of personal and professional conduct.
