Job summary

Leisure Vale Assisted Living in Glendale, CA is looking for a dedicated Housekeeper. The role involves cleaning resident rooms, laundry duties, and maintaining a safe, orderly environment for all residents and staff.

Responsibilities include following the cleaning rota, reporting issues to the Nurse Manager, and ensuring laundry is handled properly while maintaining privacy and confidentiality. Weekend work is required.

Qualifications

• Weekend availability is required.
• Good spoken and written English.
• Strong communication with patients and visitors.
• Health and Safety awareness in a nursing home setting.
• Knowledge of laundering equipment and labeling for selecting methods.
• Experience as Housekeeper/Laundry Assistant in a facility is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Clean all rooms in their designated area including furniture, fittings, fabric, carpets and equipment.
• Maintain the general cleaning rota and weekly tasks.
• Clean patients' bedrooms and private areas e.g. en suite bathrooms discreetly and respectfully.
• Report to the Nurse Manager any recurring problems needing attention.
• Ensure washing machines are emptied and left clean at end of shift.
• Collect laundry from residents and other areas and take to the laundry.
• Check items not suitable for laundry and dry clean if patient agrees.
• Clean machines daily at end of shift and leave ready.
• Dry and return bed linen and towels to stores throughout the Homes.
• Keep the laundry area clean and tidy.
