A high school diploma and 2–3 years in housekeeping are required, with CPR certification preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Minimum 2–3 years of housekeeping/janitorial experience.
• Experience in an Assisted Living facility or healthcare environment is preferred.
• Knowledge of safety hazards, health codes, and OSHA regulations is preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods.
• CPR certification is required or can be obtained prior to hire.

Responsibilities

• Maintains the cleanliness and organization of resident living areas, common areas, and public spaces.
• Meets health standards and sanitation for assigned areas.
• Safely follow directions for all cleaning chemicals and store them properly.
• Disposal of trash containers and replacement of liners.
• Cleans building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing or vacuuming.
• Washes windows, walls, ceilings, and woodwork; waxing and polishing as needed.
• Dusts and polishes furniture and equipment.
• Maintains clean storage area and stores cleaning supplies properly.
• Carries linens, towels, and cleaning supplies using wheeled carts; maintains fire aisles.
• Replenishes supplies, linens, and bathroom items.
• Reports repair needs to supervisor or maintenance staff.
• Observes resident safety when in care areas.
• Complies with health care and safety standards.
• Contributes to resident safety by monitoring and reporting concerns.
