Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Akron General is seeking a dedicated Food Service Aide to support patient meals and campus dining. You will help with portioning, serving and basic food preparation in a fast-paced hospital kitchen, ensuring quality and safety standards.

Work 1st or 2nd shift with weekends/holidays on a rotation basis; full-time roles at 40 hours weekly are available as well as part-time. This position requires adherence to sanitation guidelines and accurate food handling per production sheets.

Qualifications

• Ability to measure/weigh, add/subtract and multiply/divide during food preparation.
• Ability to read, write and follow written and verbal directions.

Responsibilities

• Dish up, portion out, assemble, weigh, measure and serve food items according to production sheet, menu or setup diagrams.
• Prepare quality food items in accordance with production sheets, recipes and menus.
• Operate kitchen equipment necessary for tasks, such as food processing and preparation equipment.
• Prepare food on grill, in ovens or using induction stoves.
• Prepare cold food items and vegetables.
• Assist the cook and patient trays assembly/disassembly.
• Assist in preparing, serving and cleaning up special dinners and luncheons.
• Maintain sanitation and keep work area clean and organized.
