Adoration Hospice in Gadsden, Alabama seeks a Volunteer Coordinator to recruit, train, and support a team of volunteers. You will manage orientation programs, assess patient and family needs, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

The role offers part-time hours with office-based coordination and collaboration across interdisciplinary teams. A strong background in volunteer management and hospice care is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a healthcare setting.
• Prior hospice or volunteer program management experience preferred.
• Knowledge of the hospice philosophy of care.
• Ability to organize and develop volunteer hospice personnel.
• Skill in planning and delivering volunteer training and orientation.
• Ability to assess patient and family needs for volunteer services.
• Skill in supervising and evaluating volunteer performance.
• Ability to coordinate support and educational meetings.
• Knowledge of state and federal regulatory requirements related to hospice services.
• Ability to communicate effectively with interdisciplinary teams, community groups, and individuals.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to contribute to budget planning and program development.
• Commitment to quality improvement and compliance activities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage volunteer training and orientation programs
• Recruit, educate, and select volunteers through multiple annual sessions
• Assess patient and family needs to match appropriate volunteer services
• Supervise, support, and evaluate volunteers regularly
• Review and update the volunteer program as needed
