Qualifications

• Graduate of a National League for Nursing accredited school of nursing.
• Current RN licensure to practice in Texas.
• Minimum of two years experience, with public health, home health, or hospice nursing preferred.
• Ability to organize and prioritize workload and work independently.

Responsibilities

• Completes initial, comprehensive and ongoing assessments of patient and family to determine hospice needs.
• Provides a complete physical assessment and history of current and previous illnesses.
• Utilizes the nursing process to provide professional nursing care.
• Writes and initiates a plan of care and revises it as needed.
• Initiates appropriate preventive and rehabilitative nursing procedures.
• Administers medications and treatments as prescribed by the physician.
