Job summary

Affinity Hospice Management LLC in Maine seeks a Board Certified Music Therapist (or eligible) to address physical, emotional, cognitive, and social needs through music therapy. The role may be contracted or employed, reporting to the Clinical Manager.

You will provide therapy per individualized plans, assess progress, educate families, and participate in interdisciplinary teams and quality improvement efforts to enhance patient comfort and dignity in end-of-life care.

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor’s or master’s degree in music therapy from an accredited program.
• Must be certified to practice as a music therapist in the state.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience; hospice experience preferred.
• Current CPR certification required.
• Understand hospice philosophy; emphasis on comfort over rehab.
• Licensed driver with a valid, insured vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Provide music therapy services per an individualized care plan.
• Assess and evaluate therapeutic status and contribute to the care plan.
• Direct music therapy treatment and set priorities for music therapy needs.
• Report patient responses to treatment to the physician.
• Instruct families/caregivers and other staff on music therapy goals.
• Submit clinical progress summaries as goals are met.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and quality initiatives.
• Participate in hospice team orientation and training.
