Job summary

Athena Home Health & Hospice is seeking per diem CNAs in the West Hartford area to provide compassionate personal care and observation for patients in hospice settings. Pay is $22.25 per hour with weekly pay, and CNAs must hold an active CT license; hospice experience is preferred.

Responsibilities include helping with activities of daily living, safe patient transfer, documentation, and reporting changes to the Case Manager while maintaining patient confidentiality and ethical care standards.

Qualifications

• Must hold an active and unencumbered Certified Nursing Assistant license in CT.
• Prior hospice experience preferred.
• Must have at least one year of CNA experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform personal care after assignment and attend to patient requests promptly.
• Communicate effectively with patients and families, maintaining confidentiality.
• Ensure patient safety and use equipment safely (foot stools, side rails, O2).
• Provide personal care including baths, back rubs, oral hygiene, shampoos and changing bed linens.
