Job summary

Gentiva is seeking a compassionate Hospice Aide to provide hands-on personal care and emotional support to patients in home settings, assisted living, or inpatient units. You’ll work closely with a care team to ensure comfort, dignity, and respectful end-of-life service.

Qualifications

• Active CNA license in the state of employment (Required).
• Current CPR certification (Required).
• Driver’s license and reliable vehicle with insurance (Required).
• Six months of direct patient care experience (Required).
• Comfortable working in home settings, hospice facilities, or long-term care environments.
• Demonstrated compassion, patience, and ability to handle emotional situations.
• Willingness to work independently and adapt to changing patient needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct personal care to terminally ill patients.
• Assist with personal hygiene, grooming, and toileting.
• Support safe mobility using walkers and wheelchairs.
• Help with meal preparation, feeding, and light housekeeping.
• Observe and report changes in patient condition.
• Offer emotional and psychological support to patients and families.
• Maintain accurate documentation of visits.
• Attend team meetings and participate in Quality Improvement activities.
• Practice infection control and follow safety protocols.
