Job summary

Gentiva is seeking a compassionate Hospice Aide/CNA to provide hands-on personal care and emotional support for patients in home, assisted living, or inpatient settings. The role emphasizes patient dignity, safety, and comfort as part of end‑of‑life care.

Requirements include an active CNA license in the state of employment, current CPR certification, a valid driver's license and reliable vehicle, and at least 6 months of direct patient care experience.

Qualifications

• Active CNA license in state of employment (Required).
• Current CPR certification (Required).
• Driver’s license and reliable vehicle with insurance (Required).
• Six (6) months of direct patient care experience (Required).
• Comfortable working in home settings, hospice facilities, or long-term care environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct personal care to terminally ill patients in home or facility settings.
• Assist with personal hygiene, grooming, and toileting.
• Support safe mobility with walkers and wheelchairs.
• Help with meal preparation, feeding, and light housekeeping.
• Observe and report changes in patient condition.
• Offer emotional and psychological support to patients and families.
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation of visits.
• Attend team meetings and participate in Quality Improvement activities.
