Gentiva in Alabama seeks a dependable Hospice Aide/CNA to deliver compassionate personal care at patients' homes, in assisted living facilities, or inpatient units. You will provide direct care, support mobility, assist with meals, and document visits while offering emotional support to families.

Required CNA license in the state, CPR certification, driver's license with reliable vehicle, and at least 6 months of direct patient care experience.

Qualifications

• Active CNA license in the state of employment.
• Current CPR certification.
• Driver's license and reliable vehicle with insurance.
• At least 6 months of direct patient care experience.
• Comfortable working in home, hospice, or long-term care settings.
• Compassion, patience and ability to handle emotional situations.
• Willingness to work independently and adapt to changing patient needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct personal care to terminally ill patients.
• Assist with hygiene, grooming, and toileting.
• Support safe mobility with walkers or wheelchairs.
• Help with meal preparation, feeding, and light housekeeping.
• Observe and report changes in patients' condition.
• Offer emotional and psychological support to patients and families.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of visits.
• Attend team meetings and participate in Quality Improvement activities.
• Practice infection control and follow safety protocols.
