Job summary

Care Initiatives Hospice is seeking a PRN Hospice Aide to support residents in Council Bluffs and surrounding areas. You will assist with daily living activities, provide companionship, and collaborate with the care team to honor patients and families during life’s final stages.

The role requires CPR certification, willingness to travel, and prior Hospice/Home Health/Aide CNA experience. Opportunities for CHPN certification within 24 months are encouraged.

Qualifications

• Experience as Hospice Aide, Home Health Aide, or CNA in the last 24 months preferred.
• Hospice or palliative care experience preferred.
• Active CPR certification required.
• Willingness to travel between multiple locations within the region.
• Ability to obtain Hospice Nursing Assistant Certification (CHPN) within 24 months.

Responsibilities

• Support daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and eating.
• Provide emotional support and companionship to residents and families.
• Communicate with residents, families, and the healthcare team.
• Encourage recreational and therapeutic activities to enhance well-being.
• Follow infection control protocols to maintain a safe environment.
