Job summary

Hospice of Michigan in Clinton Township is seeking a compassionate Hospice Aide to provide basic personal care and homemaking services under the supervision of an RN or Service Operations Manager. This role supports patients in their homes to maintain comfort and dignity.

Candidates should have a CNA certification, a high school diploma or GED, and 1–2 years of hospice or home health experience. Fluency in English and reliable transportation are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Current CNA certification required.
• One or two years’ experience as a home health/hospice aide or nurse aide preferred.
• Completion of a home health/hospice aide training and competency-evaluation program or an in-house competency-evaluation program.
• Must be able to read, write and Speak English fluently and communicate effectively with patients, families and the team.
• Ability to use technology (hardware and software) required of clinicians in their practice.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic personal care and homemaking tasks as directed by the RN or Manager, Service Operations.
• Assists with temperature, pulse and respiration and with activities of daily living.
• Maintains a safe environment and follows infection control precautions.
• Documents patient care following organizational standards and communicates changes to the RN/manager.
• Interacts with patients, caregivers, IDT team members and other staff to promote patient comfort and independence.
• Completes in-service education and training as required by policy.
