Job summary

OurCare of Connecticut is seeking Homemakers and Companions to support seniors and individuals with disabilities in their own homes in New Milford, CT. The role focuses on companionship, daily living assistance, and creating a safe, comfortable environment.

You will help with meals, light housekeeping, errands, and accompanying clients to appointments or social activities, while monitoring safety and promoting independence. Competitive pay and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Previous experience in a caregiving or companion role
• Reliable, trustworthy and compassionate

Responsibilities

• Provide companionship, conversation, and emotional support
• Assist with meal preparation and light housekeeping (laundry, dishes, cleaning)
• Run errands, grocery shop, and accompany clients to appointments or social activities
• Monitor client safety and report concerns to agency and/or family
• Encourage client independence while providing supportive presence
