Job summary

Avanta Care Home Health is seeking compassionate Home Health Aides to support clients at home in Pittsburgh, PA. You will help with daily living activities and comfort, working closely with healthcare professionals to ensure quality patient care.

The role emphasizes independence, reliability, and strong communication with clients and families, while maintaining safety and compassion in a home setting.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in home health care or related field is preferred but not mandatory.
• Strong observational skills to monitor patient conditions.
• Ability to perform meal preparation, laundry and light cleaning duties.
• Knowledge of hospice care principles is a plus.
• Certification in CPR is highly desirable.
• Compassionate demeanor with excellent communication skills.
• Must be reliable, punctual and able to follow care plans independently.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with ADLs including bathing, dressing, grooming and mobility.
• Prepare meals and ensure nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs.
• Observe patients to monitor changes and report concerns to providers.
• Provide companionship and engage clients in activities for well-being.
• Maintain cleanliness through light housekeeping and laundry.
• Provide memory care support and ensure safety for cognitively impaired clients.
• Administer CPR if necessary and assist with catheter care per care plans.
