Job summary

Qualifications

• Valid Maine PSS Certification (or willingness to complete training).
• Must be 18 years of age or older with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Reliable vehicle, valid driver’s license, and proof of active auto insurance.
• A patient, sympathetic attitude toward the elderly and a commitment to providing high-quality care.
• Ability to perform the physical tasks required of the role (lifting, bending, and standing).

Responsibilities

• Provide non-medical care to seniors and individuals with disabilities in clients' homes.
• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and oral hygiene.
• Assist with mobility including walking, transfers, and fall prevention.
• Light housekeeping: laundry, dishes, vacuuming, and tidying the living area.
• Assist with meal planning, grocery shopping, and healthy meal preparation according to dietary needs.
• Offer companionship and engage in social activities or hobbies.
• Escort clients to doctor appointments and run essential errands.
• Observe and document changes in health and communicate updates to the supervisor.
