Job summary

ISH Dining Services is seeking a Cook for a full-time and part-time position at our healthcare facility in Philadelphia. You will prepare and cook a variety of meals for residents, staff and visitors, following recipes and schedules to meet mealtime demands.

The role requires English literacy, the ability to work with a team, and adherence to sanitary guidelines and dietary plans. On-call and flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays may be required.

Qualifications

• Must possess a high school diploma or GED or be able to demonstrate two years of healthcare-related experience.
• Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
• Ability to work with peers in a congenial environment and maintain residents' dignity.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook a wide variety of foods for residents, staff and visitors.
• Follow recipes and schedules to meet mealtime plans and perform cleaning duties as assigned.
• Direct other food service staff in the absence of supervisory leadership.
• Handle food in accordance with sanitary regulations and safety policies.
• Prepare meals prescribed by attending physicians and meet meal schedules.
• Assist with evacuation and emergency drills as required.
• Maintain confidentiality of Protected Health Information and comply with facility policies.
