Job summary

The Nursing Assistant is responsible for the care of the residents in a designated area of the facility, following the Interdisciplinary Care Plan and maintaining a home-like atmosphere. He/She communicates with Licensed Staff and other departments, reports observations, and documents daily on the Nursing Flow Record and other required records.

The Nursing Assistant assists Licensed Staff, supports daily living activities, and helps ensure safety, dignity, and quality of care for each resident

Qualifications

• Able to organize, plan, and supervise care for a group of residents.
• Maintains effective interpersonal relationships with residents and staff.
• Capable of emergency care and following protective health standards.
• Maintains neat, professional appearance suitable for resident care.
• Willing to work as part of a team and support other shifts as needed.

Responsibilities

• Signs in on Unit Assignment Sheet and follows group assignments.
• Checks residents, notes significant issues for intervention, and plans care.
• Assists with meals, personal hygiene, and restorative activities per plan.
• Promotes nutrition, mobility, and dignified care in dining and living areas.
• Maintains infection control, documents care timing and observations.
• Provides support to licensed staff and collaborates with other departments.
