Job summary

Service Corporation International in Fort Worth, TX is seeking a Funeral Services Assistant to provide clerical and administrative support for funeral operations and to assist on services as needed.

You will greet families, answer questions, prepare documents, operate office equipment, and support visitations and ceremonies while upholding our compassionate standards and policies.

Attention to detail, discretion, and strong customer service are essential; occasional local travel may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous customer service and/or sales experience preferred.
• Proficient with MS Office suite and databases; willingness to learn required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare for services including floral arrangements, chairs, caskets, urns, photos, and keepsakes; ensure proper care and storage of items.
• Prepare documents related to services, cremations, maintenance, as directed by management.
• Assist with preparation of remains and operation of crematory as allowed by law and company regulations.
• Perform office duties: answering phones, operating multi-line phone system, fax, computer, debit card machine, typewriter, postage meter, scale, and stereo/video system.
• Run errands for floral delivery, supplies, documents, etc.
• Serve as an usher and may park cars or handle transportation requirements.
• Drive funeral home vehicles for services and family pick-up.
• Assist with visitations and ceremonies including setup and dressings as needed.
• Greet and receive client families entering the office for information and assistance; accommodate needs during services and visitations.
• May wash and clean funeral home vehicles and other client vehicles as required.
