Job summary

Service Corporation International seeks an embalmer to care for deceased with dignity and precision. Responsibilities include embalming, restorations, dressing, and cosmetics, while maintaining a clean preparation area and equipment.

The role requires adherence to licensing requirements and safe, compassionate service to families. On-site at our Raleigh area facilities, the embalmers work within a team dedicated to professional, respectful service and compliance with all applicable regulations

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent; mortuary college degree as required by state law.
• Experience: Embalmer; apprentice experience as required by state law; 2 years in a 200-call minimum/year funeral firm preferred.
• Licenses: Must meet all licensing requirements in applicable state law as prescribed by state board.
• Knowledge/Skills: Acceptable driving record; ability to lift over 75 pounds; knowledge of computers and MS Office; strong communication, compassion and problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Cares for deceased in a respectful manner while performing tasks including identification, embalming, and restorations.
• Dress, style hair and apply cosmetics as needed; prepare for viewing and ceremonies.
• Assist with preparation room, facility maintenance and cleaning of equipment; manage supplies.
• Observe universal precautions and ensure safe work environment; comply with applicable regulations.
