Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Mortuary college degree or state-approved equivalent.
• Embalmer experience or apprenticeship as required by law.
• At least 2 years in a 200-call minimum facility preferred.
• Must meet licensing requirements in the applicable state.
• Valid state driver's license.
• Knowledge, skills and abilities: communication, compassion, integrity.
• Ability to lift over 75 pounds.
• Computer literacy; MS Office knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Cares for the deceased respectfully while performing embalming, restorations, removals, and dressing.
• Adheres to licensing regulations and maintains preparation room and facility.
• Cleans equipment and handles hazardous materials per safety protocols.
• Assists with inventory of chemicals and supplies.
• Receives caskets and other funeral home supplies.
• Promotes a safe work environment through universal precautions.
