Job summary

Visiting Angels Athens is looking for a Housekeeper and Companion Caregiver to support seniors in the Athens area with light housekeeping, meal prep, mobility assistance, and companionship. The role offers opportunities for personal growth and advanced training in dementia/Alzheimer’s care.

Full-time and part-time schedules may be available, with duties covering transportation, medication reminders, and compassionate, respectful care for clients in need.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in home or elder care preferred.
• Ability to follow health and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Help clients take prescribed medication
• Assist clients with ambulation and mobility around the house or outside (doctor’s appointments, walks, etc.)
• Assist clients with personal care and hygiene
• Help clients with routine exercises
• Plan and prepare meals with assistance from the clients (when they are able)
• Do the client’s shopping or accompany them when they shop
• Perform light housekeeping duties that clients can’t complete on their own
• Be a pleasant and supportive companion
• Report any unusual incidents
• Act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency
