Job summary

Otterbein is seeking caring Household Assistants to support elders in our Small House neighborhoods. You’ll help with cooking, laundry, housekeeping, and daily activities to preserve dignity and independence for each resident.

Join a family-like team committed to person-centered care. Roles are available as Full Time or Part Time in a home-like setting, with pay starting at $15.00 per hour based on experience.

Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Preferred experience with elders, cooking for a group, light housekeeping and laundry.
• No previous work experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Plan meals according to dietary needs and preferences.
• Involve elders in meal planning and preparation decisions.
• Prepare meals and snacks and set up tables.
• Ensure safety and freshness of food and record temperatures.
• Perform laundry and keep rooms and kitchen clean and organized.
• Maintain confidentiality of residents and documentation.
• Answer phone and participate in team meetings to set house standards.
