Job summary

Community Services Inc. is seeking compassionate Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to empower individuals with disabilities in the Portland area.

The role involves hands-on assistance, emotional support, and community involvement while upholding dignity and personal choice. Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age.
• No experience required—we'll train you.
• Excellent problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred, but not required.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record preferred for day and swing positions.
• Background check as part of the hiring process.

Responsibilities

• Support people with daily living tasks such as personal care, meal preparation, household routines, and community inclusion and engagement.
• Encourage choice, decision-making, and confidence in everyday activities.
• Assist individuals in developing life skills that promote greater independence.
• Build positive, respectful relationships based on dignity and person-centered support.
• Follow and help to implement individualized support plans and document progress.
