Job summary

The Arc, Oneida-Lewis Chapter is seeking a Direct Support Professional to join our Day Habilitation Programs. You will act as a role model, promoting respect, dignity, and independence, and help implement LIFEPlan/Day Habilitation Plan through direct care, training, and supervision.

Schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–3:30 PM or 8:30 AM–4:00 PM with no evenings, weekends, or holidays. Requires a High School Diploma or GED and a NYS Driver's License.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required with one year of experience in working with persons with developmental disabilities in an educational setting, or health care facility.
• Valid NYS Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Actively works with individuals to promote choices and preferences.
• Assist in providing meaningful experiences within the community for individuals.
• Provide transportation for outings within the community following agency policies.
• Provide necessary assistance with daily living activities, including lifting as needed.
• Report positive/negative responses and health concerns to the team promptly.
• Maintain a neat and orderly program area and restock supplies as necessary.
