Job summary

Whole Life is seeking a Direct Support Professional to provide person-centered care to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Killingly, CT. The role focuses on supporting daily living activities, promoting independence, and community integration.

Responsibilities include assisting with ADLs, medication support, documenting observations, and collaborating with families and managers to implement care plans. Strong English communication and documentation skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Proof of High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• Proof of valid driver's license or equivalent.
• Ability to pass background check and health/tuberculosis tests.
• Ability to stand, move, lift up to 100 lbs unassisted.
• Ability to document care in English, both spoken and written.

Responsibilities

• Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and meal prep.
• Administer medications, monitor vital signs, and support medical appointments.
• Maintain a clean, safe living environment through light housekeeping and laundry.
• Engage clients in social activities and community outings to promote independence.
• Use mobility equipment correctly and safely.
• Document daily activities, observations, and incidents accurately.
• Maintain confidentiality per HIPAA regulations.
