Job summary

Episcopal SeniorLife Communities invites applications for a per diem Food Service Waitstaff position for lunch and dinner shifts. The role requires delivering meals with courtesy and professionalism, while following sanitation guidelines and assisting residents as needed.

The successful candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent, basic reading/writing skills, and may have six months of food service experience. Knowledge of NYS DOH regulations is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with basic reading/writing skills.
• Six months' food service experience preferred.
• Knowledge of NYS DOH regulations on food operations and sanitation.
• Demonstrated leadership, organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to interact courteously with staff, residents and visitors.

Responsibilities

• Understand the menu items and preparation methods.
• Take all food orders at table(s), assure accuracy.
• Deliver all food items to table.
• Follow up on all comments, corrections from customers to ensure positive outcomes.
• May deliver room service or patio home meals for residents.
• May attend resident association and food committee meetings for feedback.
• Attend all service staff meetings to address problems and plans.
• Read all literature, memos concerning changes or other necessary information.
• Reports to Chef Manager or designee.
