Job summary

Collier's Assisted Living in Port Orange, FL is seeking a compassionate Dining Room Server to join our resident-focused team. This part-time role supports mealtime service, ensuring meals respect dietary needs and contribute to a social, welcoming dining experience for our residents.

You'll work with kitchen staff to deliver timely meals, assist residents with choices, maintain clean dining areas, and participate in events. Weekend availability and teamwork are essential in our caring community.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must pass a level 2 background check.
• Previous experience in food service, preferably in a healthcare or assisted living environment.
• Strong interpersonal skills and a passion for working with seniors.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate clearly with staff and residents.
• Knowledge of dietary needs and food safety practices is a plus.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to [insert weight] pounds and stand for extended periods.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Serve meals and beverages to residents, observing dietary restrictions and preferences.
• Assist residents in meal choices considering individual needs and tastes.
• Set up and clean dining areas before and after meals, maintaining a welcoming and hygienic environment.
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely meal delivery and communicate residents’ needs effectively.
• Provide friendly and attentive service, fostering a warm atmosphere during mealtime.
• Monitor residents' food intake and report any concerns regarding nutrition or dietary needs.
• Assist with special events and social gatherings as directed, including theme nights or holiday celebrations.
• Follow all health and safety regulations, including food safety standards and cleanliness protocols.
• Attend staff meetings and training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge relevant to serving in an assisted living environment.
