“Serving Older Adults with God’s Love.”

Position Summary

T

At DaySpring, mealtime is more than just serving food—it's an important part of our residents' day.

We're looking for a dependable, organized, and caring Cook who takes pride in preparing quality meals and creating a positive dining experience for the older adults we serve.

What You'll Do

As a Food Service Cook, you'll be responsible for preparing and serving meals according to established menus and recipes while making sure food is ready on time, presented well, and prepared with residents' individual needs and preferences in mind.

You'll also:

  • Prepare and cook meals according to menus and recipes
  • Make sure meals are ready and served on schedule
  • Accommodate individual resident needs and preferences
  • Present food in an appealing and thoughtful way
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen
  • Follow food-safety and sanitation requirements
  • Properly care for kitchen equipment and utensils
  • Complete required food-service documentation, including temperatures and meal records
  • Work efficiently while minimizing waste
Who We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who is:

Dependable • Organized • Efficient • Clean • Team-Oriented • Resident-Focused

The right person should have experience with food preparation, presentation, and service and be comfortable following recipes, menus, instructions, sanitation standards, and established schedules.

You need to be someone who can manage your time, stay organized, and take ownership of your kitchen. Residents are depending on you, so meals need to be prepared correctly and ready when they're supposed to be.

The Heart of the Position

This isn't a high-volume restaurant kitchen where you're serving strangers you'll never see again. You're preparing meals for people you get to know.

We want someone who understands that a resident's favorite meal, how their food is prepared, and even how it looks on their plate can make a difference in their day.

We're looking for a Cook who takes pride in their work, cares about the people they're serving, and wants to use their skills to make DaySpring feel like home.

The position includes scheduled shifts every other weekend, with opportunities for additional hours when available.
