Job summary

Apostolic Christian Restmor Inc. in Morton, IL is seeking a part-time Dining Services Assistant to support resident meal service, set tables, portion and serve foods, assist with snacks, and help deliver meals and beverages to residents and staff.

The role requires following modified diets, preparing items for service, restocking refrigerators, assisting catering events, documenting temperatures, maintaining sanitation, and cleaning dishware and work areas.

Qualifications

• Prior food service experience preferred.
• Ability to understand and follow directions, written and oral.
• Capable of communicating with staff and residents, written and oral.
• Positive attitude and caring approach required.
• Must be available to work 5:30am-2:00pm 2-3 weekdays as well as every other weekend and a holiday rotation.

Responsibilities

• Supports resident and staff meal service. Ensures familiarization with modified diets such as carbohydrate controlled, mechanical soft, and puree diets.
• Prepares/assembles items for resident and staff meal service and assembly (salads, sandwiches, desserts, beverages, condiments, silverware, etc.).
• Assembles resident meals according to established menu and tickets.
• Sets up, serves, clears, and cleans resident dining rooms.
• Prepares/delivers resident snacks. Replenishes nursing/resident refrigerators with beverages and snacks.
• Supports catering operations. Prepares and assembles requested items. Sets up catering location with requested items.
• Documents refrigeration/freezer temperatures. Documents food temperatures and takes corrective action as needed.
• Cleans service ware and cooking utensils; operates dishwashing machines and sinks; scrubs heavy utensils.
• Maintains department sanitation; cleans work area, floors, walls, ceilings, and equipment; cleans walk-in refrigerators.
• Complies with department, facility, and government policies and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.
