Arbor Hills Nursing and Rehabilitation in Ferguson, MO seeks a Dietary Cook to join our kitchen team. You will determine menus, prepare meals, supervise staff, and ensure high standards of food quality and safety in a 24-hour facility, with opportunities for training and growth.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or general equivalency is preferred.
• 1 year of experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Determine types and quantities of meats, vegetables, and soups to be prepared by reviewing planned menus and are timely.
• Determine the amount of foods needed to meet weekly menus and submit order to Dietary Supervisor.
• Assist in establishment and maintenance of perpetual supplies inventory, and notifies Dietary Supervisor of shortages or discrepancies.
• Consult with Dietary Supervisor regarding use of left-overs, stores, and labels accordingly.
• Consult registered dietitian on modified diets.
• Supervise dietary workers when washing, trimming, or preparing food.
• Assist in training, orientation, and supervisor of newly hired dietary staff.
• Measure and mix ingredients according to approved recipes, using blenders, mixers, grinders, slicers, etc.
• Cook meat, fish, and fowl in a variety of ways and portion control per menu and resident orders.
• Test food temperatures and observe infection prevention practices.
• Maintain a clean and organized kitchen and support resident safety.

Education

High School diploma or GED
