Job summary

Carteret House is seeking a friendly and dependable Dietary Aide to join our culinary team and help provide nutritious meals to residents. You will assist with meal service, maintain kitchen cleanliness, and support residents during dining times.

The role emphasizes teamwork, adherence to food safety standards, and compassionate service to the elderly. Prior kitchen experience is helpful but not required; training is provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Previous food service experience is preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
• Ability to follow directions and work well in a team.
• Compassion for and a desire to work with the elderly.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Meal assistance: prepare, portion, and serve meals per dietary plans.
• Sanitation and cleanliness in kitchen and dining areas; wash dishes and equipment.
• Provide meal assistance and ensure a positive dining experience for residents.
• Follow food safety protocols and proper storage and sanitation.
• Assist in receiving and storing food; monitor inventory and report shortages.
• Collaborate with dietary team to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
• Fulfill residents' special dietary requests and preferences during meals.
