Qualifications include a minimum high school diploma or GED, and preferred one year of institutional food service experience. Strong reading of diet cards and basic computer skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Handles and stores all food according to facility procedures and safety guidelines.
• Assists with food preparation as assigned by supervisor.
• Prepares food items according to recipes, ensuring safe handling.
• Operates institutional food preparation equipment per directions.
• Assists with setting up the food tray line and assembling resident trays.
• Delivers trays to dining areas and resident units; verifies correct diet and tray.
• Reports equipment problems to supervisor and maintains cleanliness.
• Participates in state inspections and communicates with supervisor during shifts.
