Job summary

Valley HealthCare System is seeking a Dietary Aide to support the dietary services team in a Skilled Nursing Facility. You will assist with food prep, meal service, patient assistance at mealtimes, and ensure sanitation and safety standards are followed.

The role requires adherence to dietary guidelines and collaboration with nursing staff to meet resident dietary needs and physician orders. Weekend and varying shifts may be required in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and portion food items according to menus and dietary guidelines.
• Set up meal trays and dining areas for service.
• Deliver meals and snacks to residents in a timely manner.
• Assist residents during mealtime and report concerns to nursing staff.
• Follow therapeutic and modified diet orders accurately.
• Wash dishes and clean kitchen equipment.
• Maintain sanitation per infection control standards.
• Monitor food temperatures and ensure safety compliance.
• Assist with inventory and stocking of supplies using FIFO.
• Dispose of waste and keep dietary areas clean.
