Job summary

Lake Park Center in Waukegan, IL is hiring two full-time Dietary Aides to support our cooking team. Shifts are 5:00 a.m.–1:30 p.m. and 11:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m., providing nutritious meals to residents in a compassionate healthcare setting.

You will assist the cook, prepare and serve meals, follow diets prescribed on dietary cards, and maintain high sanitation and safety standards. The role requires a high school diploma (GED acceptable) and a food handler certificate or ability to obtain one.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Food handler's certification or ability to obtain one.
• No convictions for abuse, neglect or mistreatment or for misappropriation of property.
• Prompt and regular attendance.

Responsibilities

• Stores food properly – in containers and off the floor.
• Correctly stores toxic items.
• Uses appropriate and timely hand-washing techniques.
• Ensures all individual meals are served according to prescribed diets as reflected on the dietary card.
• Follows proper sanitation and infection control procedures.
• Covers food in route to serving area.
