Job summary

Anaheim Crest Nursing Center is seeking a Dietary Aide to support all food functions in accordance with federal, state, and local standards. You will assist the Dietician and kitchen staff, help prepare meals, and ensure sanitation and safety in the dining area for residents with dignity and respect.

The role requires reading, writing, and speaking English, as well as ability to follow oral and written instructions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Some experience helpful; on the job training will be provided.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
• Must be able to follow oral and written instructions.

Responsibilities

• Assisting the Dietician / Dietary Management and Cook as requested
• Helping with meal preparation in accordance to the dietary needs of the residents
• Assisting in serving meals that are palatable and appetizing in appearance
• Timely setting up of meal service and delivery of meal trays and food carts
• Following the established portion controls recommended
• Adhering to sanitation and food safety guidelines during meal preparation and clean up
• Keeping work tables clean, meat blocks, refrigerators/freezers, etc.
• Sweeping and mopping floors
• Dishwashing and cleaning of utensils
• Returning clean dishes and utensils to the proper storage areas
• Carrying out garbage
• Disposing of food and waste per facility regulations
• Obtaining food supplies for the next meal
• Following safety regulations and precautions at all times
• Reporting any occupational exposures to blood, body fluids, or other hazardous materials to a supervisor immediately
• Adhering to all facility policies and procedures of the facility
• Maintaining confidentiality of all pertinent resident care information
