Job summary

Diablo Valley Post Acute is seeking a dependable Dietary Aide to join our Dietary Services team. You’ll help provide nutritious meals and support a positive dining experience for residents while keeping the kitchen clean and safe.

This is a full-time position with a 4/2 rotation. Compensation ranges from $17.00 to $18.54 per hour, based on experience, with on-the-job training and growth opportunities within our organization.

Qualifications

• Previous dietary, food service, or restaurant experience is helpful but not required.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Reliable, dependable, and eager to learn.

Responsibilities

• Assist with meal preparation, tray set-up, and meal service for residents.
• Prepare and serve snacks and nourishments as assigned.
• Collect, strip, and wash returned meal trays and dishes.
• Safely operate the commercial dishwasher and monitor water temperature and sanitizer levels.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized kitchen and dining areas.
• Sweep and mop floors, clean work surfaces, refrigerators, and food preparation areas.
• Properly store food and supplies following sanitation and safety guidelines.
• Remove trash and maintain cleanliness throughout the dietary department.
• Work collaboratively with dietary staff and other departments to provide excellent resident service.
• Participate in orientation and ongoing in-service training as assigned.
