Job summary

Lakeland Behavioral Health System is seeking reliable Cooks and Dietary Aids to join our behavioral health facility. Day Shift and Evening Shift are available to support patient meals and dietary services.

Responsibilities include food preparation, serving, sanitation, and adherence to safety and diet requirements. Helpful certifications like ServSafe are encouraged to ensure high standards of food safety and patient care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• ServSafe or equivalent food safety certification required where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine clean-up and sanitation of kitchen, dining or serving areas.
• Properly prepare, serve and store food in accordance with facility policies.
• Ensure compliance with state or federal regulations.
• Prepare foods according to standardized recipes and approved menu.
• Utilize service methods and food handling techniques to ensure quality.
• Understand and apply the sanitation procedures needed to provide a safe and healthy environment.
• Adhere to menu compliance, special diet compliance and report any dietary non-compliance, concern or complaint of patients to dietician, supervisor or manager.
• Perform other functions and tasks as assigned.
