Job summary

Endogen Wellness in Dearborn, MI is seeking a dedicated Dental Assistant to support our dental team and patients throughout their visit. You will prepare treatment rooms, assist with examinations and varied procedures, and ensure instruments and rooms are ready for every appointment.

In this fast-paced role you will take X-rays as allowed, uphold infection-control standards, maintain accurate records, and guide patients on oral care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Dental assisting education or certification preferred, depending on state requirements.
• Strong communication and customer-service skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to follow infection-control procedures.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced dental office.
• Basic computer and record-keeping skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare treatment rooms and dental instruments before procedures.
• Assist the dentist during examinations, cleanings, fillings, extractions, and other procedures.
• Take and develop dental X-rays as permitted by state regulations and training.
• Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and maintain infection-control standards.
• Seat patients, review medical and dental histories, and take basic patient information.
• Provide patients with instructions for oral care and post-treatment procedures.
• Maintain accurate patient records and update treatment information.
• Schedule appointments and assist with patient check-in and check-out.
• Manage dental supplies and notify the office when inventory needs replenishing.
• Follow OSHA, HIPAA, and applicable state dental regulations.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming clinical environment.
• Communicate professionally with patients, dentists, hygienists, and office staff.
