Job summary

Harrington Family Health Center in Downeast Maine seeks a Dental Assistant to support two dentists and the dental team in delivering high-quality patient care. You will prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and assist with procedures to ensure a smooth patient experience.

Qualifications include a CDA certification with Maine radiology license preferred; BLS and radiography credentials are also favorable. Prior EMR experience and a compassionate, team-oriented approach are valued.

Qualifications

• Certified Dental Assistant certification; Maine State Radiology License preferred but will train the right candidate.
• BLS Certification preferred.
• Radiography Certification preferred.
• Provide compassionate and helpful assistance to patients, addressing questions about good dental care practices.

Responsibilities

• Vital signs and chairside assisting for all HFHC dental procedures.
• Communicate clearly with patients to ensure mutual understanding of visit reasons.
• Review health history and enter chart updates under Dentist direction.
• Disinfect treatment rooms and sterilize instruments per OSHA standards.
• Take radiographs where licensed, maximizing diagnostic information while minimizing exposure.
• Engage in preventive maintenance of dental equipment.
