Job summary

Vista Prairie Communities is hiring a Cook at Fieldcrest, Assisted Living and Memory Care, to prepare meals per menus and dietary guidelines, in a safe and sanitary kitchen. You will support residents during meals and help maintain a clean dining area.

The role requires a HS diploma or GED (Culinary Arts training preferred) and the ability to read, write, and follow directions. Full-time, with evening and weekend shifts, in Sheldon, IA.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is preferred.
• Training in Culinary Arts and/or 1 year’s experience as a cook preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to read, write, and carry out directions required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals according to established menus and dietary guidelines.
• Ensure food is prepared and served in a safe, sanitary, and timely manner.
• Follow all food safety and sanitation procedures in compliance with health regulations.
• Assist in maintaining a clean and organized kitchen and dining area.
• Provide friendly and attentive service to residents, employees, and guests.
• Support residents by providing personal care and service during meal times as needed.
