Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Nursing Assistant II certification required.
• Current Nursing Assistant II registration with North Carolina Board of Nursing.
• Nursing Assistant I with the Division of Facility Services required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in admission of patients to the unit and orient to the unit.
• Respond to patient needs with direct assistance or by reporting to the appropriate person.
• Assist with implementation of nursing care plan and carry out delegated tasks.
• Maintain patient safety and proper use of equipment and supplies.
• Access medication/supply room to retrieve items for patient care.
• Keep patient environment clean and well-stocked.
• Participate in cost containment and accurate charging for services.
• Engage in educational and Performance Improvement activities.
• May perform phlebotomy, 12 lead EKG, or waived lab testing per unit competency.
• Support patient satisfaction and hospital workflow.
